Our Projects
Over the past ten years MoPSA has sent hundreds of thousands of pounds to the Missionaries of the Poor which has been used to feed the starving, provide clothing, shelter and medicine.
This money has been raised through individual donations and through the completion of large projects, mainly in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
The Four Tenors Concert - March 2011
St. Aidan’s Church, Little Chalfont, was packed out for a concert given by the Four Tenors, members of Father Richard Ho Lung’s and Friends’ music group. It was a lively and exhilarating evening with songs in different styles, all composed by Father Ho Lung.
The group also performed a similar concert in the Emmanuel Centre in London, as well as animating several celebrations of the Mass in Slough, Ealing, Forest Gate and Hounslow. The money collected on these occasions, amounting to £9,521.17, will all go to the Women’s Crisis Centre in Jamaica and the Tree of Life Mission in Kenya.
DVDs and CDs of the songs etc. are available from Fr. Ken Payne, MoPSA, St. Aidan’s, Little Chalfont, HP7 9NE, and shortly, the life story of Father Ho Lung will be published, “Joy for All?”, giving the account of how under his inspiration the Missionaries of the Poor started thirty years ago and how it has now expanded world-wide with over 550 Brothers involved.

Run for the Bus - June 2009
£16000 was raised when schools from around the globe combined to take part in an international fundraising venture for the Missionaries of the Poor in June 2009. In an effort to raise enough money to buy a new minibus to transport destitute children from the homes to the Missionaries of the Poor school in Naga City, Philippines, the children of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School in Bletchley and their counterparts at CEIP Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente in Murcia, Spain took part in a mammoth sponsored fun run. All of the children in both schools were sponsored to run around their schools. The event was done simultaneously and the children could keep in touch with one another via a video link in the playgrounds.
