The Missionaries of the Poor

The Missionaries of the Poor is an Order of Brothers who live to serve the poor. Founded and based in Jamaica by Fr. Richard Ho Lung, they have centres in many of the poorest areas of the world.

'The Lords Place' Centre

Where elderly, mentally and physically disabled women are looked after where AID’s victims can live in peace.

'The Bethlehem' Centre

The Bethlehem centre is a children’s home which houses around 60 to 100 small children from newborns to young adults. Above it is a chapel where the brothers hold a large Sunday mass for the people of Old Kingston.

'The Beatitudes' Centre

The new children’s centre in the mountains called 'The Beatitudes' where there are 23 of the stronger children from the 'Bethlehem' centre whom the brothers thought it would benefit them to be in a different, more beautiful and calming environment.

A centre where the brothers take care of physically and mentally disabled men, most of these men will never leave this centre.
